The Snow Queen Ice Ballet is looking for all types of skaters and soloists for the premier in January 2022 and a possible international tour – Apply by sending an audition video by latest July 31th 2021

The Snow Queen Ice Ballet will premier at the brand new Uros Live Arena in Tampere, Finland on January 1st-3rd, 2022. The artistic team creating this production is an international dream team with an amazing roster of worldwide hits and arena scale productions from the most belowed ballet, opera and theatrical productions to internationally touring arena shows and hit movie scores. This production is a co-production by Kantelinen Company and Tampere Hall with the experience of over 6.000 event productions ranging from premier operas to ballet and festival productions.  The producers have set their soul to create a lasting and sustainable world class Nordic ice show tradition rising from the strength of Nordic ice knowledge and telling timeless and mesmerizing stories from the north for a wide range of international audiences.

We are actively searching to fill the role of Kai, a central character to the show. The profile for this role will be excellent acting skills, strong hockey and ice dance experience with an exceptional stage presence. Could this be you? If you are our potential Kai, the leading role star, please send your audition video as early as possible, since recruiting this star is our first priority.

Rehearsal periods for The Snow Queen will be organized during summer and autumn 2021 as well as three weeks before the premiere. The producers are looking for both soloists and ensemble performers, including a star for the leading role of Kai, unique skating and trickster personalities to ice dancing couples and performers with synchronized skating skills. The show is a homage to all ice sportThe performers will attend rehearsals at different times depending on the role. The rehearsal periods for each role will be confirmed during August 2021. The rehearsals will be held in the Helsinki capital region and in Tampere. All performers should be prepared to participate in the ensemble rehearsals and the dress rehearsal that will be held between December 7th-31st, 2021, according to a schedule to be released later.

The international tour

Negotiations for international shows of The Snow Queen are currently underway. The possible international tour will be arranged after the Finnish premiere, either shortly after the Finnish premier or in the course of the years 2022-2023. The aim is to recruit as many of the performers as possible for both the Finnish show and the tour. For the international tour, we value at least elementary English skills and a minimum of 18 years of age. Around 40-45 roles will be filled for the international tour.

Send us the application and the link to your audition video by latest Saturday, July 31th at 16:00 (EET) 2021. Upload the video to YouTube and insert the link into the field in the registration form. Please make sure the privacy settings of the video allow us to watch the video directly from the link.

What we would like to see and hear in the video:

  • Before your performance and the start of the music, please tell us your name, your age, your background in skating and where you come from. Also add your name to the file name you save your audition video with.
  • We are looking for original individuals – so don’t limit yourself, show us all you’ve got! We are going to hire people who love performing, as diverse a group as possible.
